Moving Out
We hope your tenancy with Colliers has been a positive experience! Below you will find instructions to help ensure that your move is smooth, safe, and straightforward.
Ending Your Tenancy
Your termination notice must be submitted in writing and must include the signature(s) of the tenant(s). You can easily terminate your tenancy agreement online here. If you are unable to complete the termination process electronically, please contact our Customer Service team.
If your tenancy agreement is registered in the names of two tenants, both tenants must complete the termination notice. If you submit a paper termination notice, both tenants must sign the document and confirm whether both tenants or only one tenant will be moving out. If one tenant remains in the apartment, both parties must approve the tenancy agreement change in writing.
Once we have received and processed your termination notice, we will always send you written confirmation together with move-out instructions by email or post.
Change of Address Notification
A move-out notification must be submitted to your property's maintenance company. You can find the maintenance company's contact details on the building notice board or in the Tenant Portal. Many maintenance companies also provide an online change of resident information form on their website.
An official change of address notification is a legal requirement submitted to the authorities. Everyone is required to submit a change of address notification whenever they move. Keeping your address information up to date ensures that government authorities and postal services can reach you at the correct address. Submit your official change of address notification no earlier than one month before your moving date and no later than one week after moving. You can submit your official change of address notification to Posti and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV) here.
Apartment Inspection
Jos asunto tarkastetaan ennakkoon irtisanomisaikana ennen vuokrasopimuksen päättymistä, Colliersin muuttotarkastaja ottaa asukkaaseen yhteyttä huoneiston muuttotarkastuksesta.
Ennakkotarkastuksella tehdään katselmus huoneiston korjaustarpeista, jotta niihin voidaan varautua ennen seuraavaa asukasta.
If the apartment is inspected in advance during the notice period before the tenancy ends, a Colliers move-out inspector will contact you to arrange the apartment inspection. The pre-move-out inspection identifies any repair needs in the apartment so that necessary preparations can be made before the next resident moves in. You may be present during the inspection, and you do not need to prepare the apartment separately for the inspection.
The apartment should be in a condition that allows the inspector to assess its condition and identify any possible maintenance or repair needs. You will receive information about the inspection time in advance. During the inspection visit, the inspector will provide you with final cleaning instructions, information about any cleaning or repair needs identified, and the tenant charge price list. Please leave security locks unlocked and inform us in advance if you have pets in the apartment.

Final Cleaning
The apartment must be thoroughly cleaned before moving out. Please carefully follow the final cleaning instructions to avoid possible deductions from your security deposit due to insufficient cleaning. No personal belongings may be left in the apartment.
Remember to remove ceiling lamps, shelves, mirrors and other personal installations or belongings. In addition to the apartment, remember to empty your private storage unit and any shared storage areas of your belongings.
Electronic Move-Out Inspection Report
Before your tenancy ends, you will receive an electronic move-out inspection report to complete. The report guides you through the final cleaning requirements and allows you to document the condition of the apartment with photographs and, if desired, written comments. You will also receive a copy of the completed report. This provides you with documentation showing the condition of the apartment at the time of handover.
Sealing Water Connections
If you have installed your own dishwasher or washing machine in the apartment, you are responsible for removing the appliance correctly. After disconnecting the water supply hose, the incoming water connection and the drain hose connection must be properly sealed using suitable threaded plugs. To prevent damage to water connections, removal work must be carried out carefully using appropriate tools. We recommend having this work completed by a qualified professional installer.
Returning Keys
All keys belonging to the apartment must be returned when the tenancy agreement ends. Remember to also return any parking space heating post key and parking permits or access permits. If keys are not returned completely, the locks may need to be rekeyed to ensure the safety and security of the next resident. The costs of rekeying due to missing keys will be charged to the previous tenant.
Security Deposit Refund
We aim to refund your security deposit within two weeks after the end of your tenancy agreement, provided that all tenancy obligations have been fulfilled. This includes, for example rent payments have been completed, the apartment has been properly cleaned, the apartment has been returned in good condition and all apartment keys have been returned.
The tenant is responsible for compensating the landlord for any damage caused intentionally, through negligence, or through careless actions. More information is available in the maintenance responsibility chart and tenant charge price list. Please remember to provide your bank account details when submitting your termination notice so that the security deposit can be refunded.

Move-Out Survey
If your building uses a move-out survey, you will receive a link to the survey by email. The survey allows you to provide feedback about your tenancy experience and the move-out process. Your feedback is valuable to us and helps us improve our services and provide an even better resident experience. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete. Thank you in advance for your feedback.
