We conducted a survey on our website among apartment seekers in late spring and early summer 2026 to gain a better understanding of the factors that influence the choice of a rental home. Below is a brief summary of the results. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Why Is Rental Living Popular?

By far the most common reasons for choosing rental living were its ease and hassle-free nature. Other top reasons included not having to worry about property maintenance and the high cost of owner-occupied housing.

Housing-related services should be user-friendly, important information and resident communications should be readily available, and residents should be able to quickly get assistance with any housing-related questions. Property maintenance is handled efficiently, and the costs of rental living are easy for residents to anticipate.

What Types of Rental Homes Are Most in Demand?

Most respondents were looking for a one-bedroom apartment, while the share of those seeking a studio apartment and a two-bedroom apartment was almost equal. Naturally, people's different life situations also influence the type of rental home they are searching for.

The most important factors affecting the choice of a rental home were the safety of the residential area and housing costs. In addition, location, the condition of the apartment, and the overall attractiveness of the living environment were frequently highlighted in the responses.
